Dove Real Beauty Self-Esteem Programs

The Dove Self-Esteem Fund’s Real Beauty Workshops for Girls are fun, educational and interactive sessions for young girls aged 8-12 and their adult female mentors: mothers, relatives, friends – anyone interested in starting a dialogue on beauty and self-image with a young girl.

Facilitated by an expert, these workshops are designed to shed some light on the issues of beauty pressures and self-esteem and spark discussion between young girls and their role models, giving them the tools to help overcome beauty pressures and build positive self-image. I LOVE Dove for doing this new ad campaign, and now following it up with something like this... It's just great to see companies stepping up to help girls see their true beauty. Bravo!

hey sorry just came across this post. What dove is doing is not only smart but also needed. So much of what and who you see on tv does not represent normal women or even young girls for that matter. Even though they are not the target market it is nice for young girls to see that you don't have to be paris hilton or britney spears. If you ever decide to do a piece for both young girls based on fashion or self-esteem, check out www.beaconstreetgirls.com. it is a book series that works on promoting self-esteem in young girls.
