Did You Know Cargo is Canadian?

I read this Beautynomics write-up and I totally agree with them - this item is cool! Perhaps I am bias because CARGO is Canadian :)

Here is what Beautynomics said:

With the surge of new and innovative products for the vain and beautiful, one of the most sought after products right now are for those always on the go. With this, the Cargo Daily Gloss is simply hard to ignore. With celebrities such as the beautiful Jennifer Love Hewitt as avid fans of this brand, I am definitely convinced that this is one good brand ( Reviews, to come this week! )

Your 30-day supply of the famous Cargo lipgloss is packaged in “individual tear-away pouches”, and you get 10 “bubbles” for each shade, meaning you get three shades for that product Variant # 1 being the pinkish shades, and Variant # 2 being near the coral shades. ). Lips are well taken cared of with the ultra-moisturizers shea butter and vitamin-e, as the ingredients for the sheer gloss that provides long-lasting color.

I would definitely want this on my stressed days wherein I would just shove anything in my purse. There simply are days wherein you just want everything ready for you, and with that, this would be perfect! Hmm..I wonder what they were thinking when they came up with the packaging. Reminds me of the packaging used for medicine. But I gotta give it to them, since it took quite a wild imagination to interlink the beauty, and pharmaceutical industry! Haha!

A Manicure in a Minute?

$20 Million in sales cannot be bad. This is what Rosie Herman of The One Minute Manicure acheived in only 5 years!

Everyone seems to be talking about The One Minute Manicure - this product is getting A LOT of press. Oprah loves it, People Magazine are talking about it - it has to be good!

Rosie Herman was a manicurist by trade, a salon owner, and then a stay-at-home mom with the birth of twins. In need of extra spending money, Rosie combined her manicure expertise with her love of cooking and created a unique skincare "recipe" which catapulted her idea to international fame. The One Minute Manicure turned into a multi-million dollar success story and more importantly, simply a highly effective skin care treatment.

It exfoliates, moisturizes and nourishes nails and skin. The essential oils used in One Minute Manicure products absorb into your skin and last longer. I think I'll buy a couple and never have to worry about dried paws. If Opray likes it, it HAS to be good!

Size: 13 oz $29.95

Get Spooky

With Halloween just around the corner I thought it muight be fun to talk about Halloween makeup.

I love Halloween and decorate my home every year with huge spiders, rats and of course carved pumpkins.

Here are a few tips and techniques to help you bring your makeup and costume ideas to life with terrifying ease!

GETTING STARTED
1. Decide if you should put your makeup on before or after getting in costume. If your costume is one that can easily be put on without touching your face and messing up your makeup, go ahead and do your makeup first. It's easier to put makeup on when you are not in costume because you don't have to worry about messing up your costume.

However, if your costume is going to be difficult to put on, go ahead and get into it before putting on your makeup. Simply drape a towel around your neck to protect your costume from makeup splatters and drips. This way you can do a great job on your makeup and not accidentally mess it up while putting on your costume.

2. Get your hair out of the way. Now that you are ready to begin with the makeup, secure a scarf around your head so that all your hair is covered. This will keep your face makeup out of your hair, prevent your hair from messing up your makeup and will give you a clear view of your whole face.

3. Use a couple of mirrors (one on either side) to study your face. Take a moment to imagine the makeup on your face before applying it. Taking a little time to mentally plan how you're going to put on your makeup can help prevent frustrating mistakes and may give you some new ideas.

4. Have fun! Nothing is too strange for Halloween, so be creative! If you decide at the last minute that you want to try something wild, go for it! If it doesn't work out, you've (hopefully) started early and will have time to clean up and go back to the original plan.

SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR LOOKS
Old As The Hills - When trying to look old, don't just draw dark lines on your skin to look like wrinkles. First cover the skin in a lighter than normal color using baby powder or white blemish cover stick. Then draw the dark lines using an eyeliner and slightly blend them to the surrounding area with your finger. Then add baby powder to give the skin that old, dry look. You can also use the baby powder in your hair to get that gray look.

Walking Dead - Be a skeleton on Halloween night by smearing white paint all over your face and black paint around your eyes, nose and mouth. Use a black eyeliner to make teeth and spooky-looking nostrils.

Get Bit - If you want to be a Vampire, first cover face in white powder makeup or white blemish cover stick. Outline sharp eyebrows, and then fill in with black makeup. Draw lines on the face with reddish-brown makeup, and blur the edges a bit. Outline the eyes and draw a line up about an inch from the outside edge of the eye. Drip fake blood from the edges of the mouth. (see below for details on making fake blood) Comb hair into a point in the middle of the forehead. Use fake teeth to complete the transformation.

Which is Witch? - To look like a witch, cover the face in green or white powder makeup or white blemish cover stick. With a black makeup stick, draw lines in a "V" in the middle of the forehead and create some lines around the mouth. Draw lines on the hands with an eyeliner pen; almost follow the veins to make the hands look old. Tease and spray hair with a super stick hairspray. Place in a few plastic bugs.

EXTRA EFFECTS
For scars and sores: Combine pink or green face tissue with corn syrup.

For facial hair: Use the hair from an old stuffed toy or hairbrush and attach with double stick tape or fake eyelash adhesive.

For blood: Combine red food color and corn syrup. After dripping the blood where you want it to be, don't let the edges of the blood smear. Give the fake blood plenty of time to dry and be mindful not to wipe your face later on in the evening!

For blood and gore: Use red food color, corn syrup and chunky peanut butter.

Have fun at Halloween and I would love to see photos of what you all dressed up as. Feel free to send them to lipstickpowder_n_paint@yahoo.ca

The weather today is going to be just fine!

Benefit's The Weather Girl is the perfect makeup kit for Fall - with six hues of rich mochas, pearly champagnes and sheer mauves, for the lips and eyes. Avocado oil, jojoba, and aloe extract will keep your lips smooth and moisturized when the weather really gets chilly. Wear them separately or mix them to make your own custom look.

Once again Benefit has created unique packaging for this newer product - the palette looks like a 1960's TV with a beautifully made up Weather Girl stating that there is "a 99% chance of me looking gorgeous!" With this palette, I would say that there is no doubt that anyone would have 100% probability of looking gorgeous!

My fav look at the moment is wearing my jeans with my chunky, chocolate brown wrap cardigan and then layering on these shimmer eye shadows and finishing off with the lip cream in Rose. It looks really great!

Fall is looking better and better every day!
