Your brows are a little unruly, perhaps you notice that horror of all horrors you are getting a moustache...what do you do?! There are a couple of different ways to remove hair from your face - waxing is probably the most popular with tweezing a close second.

My sensitive skin has an aversion to waxing and I always end up looking like I have a disease only hours after a waxing session. Well rashes be gone! I am now a threading fan. This Middle Eastern tradition has been around for a very long time and is incredibly inexpensive. For only $7 CAD I had my eyebrows groomed and my 'stache removed.

What is threading? It is cotton thread twisted tightly to pull out hair in a precise manner.

How is it done? The 'Threader' holds one end of the cotton thread in their teeth and the other in the left hand. The middle is looped through the index and middle fingers of the right hand. The 'Threader' then uses the loop to trap a series of unwanted hairs and pull them from the skin.

It sounds painful but it is not at all and will last to approx 4 weeks and can be done on the upper lip, chin, eyebrows, sideburns and cheeks.

If you are in Vancouver I would highly recommend Kohli's on 49th and Main Street. Their phone number is 604-327-2779.

Treat Your Skin to a Garden of Goodies

April is skincare month here at Lipstick, Powder 'n Paint and I wanted to bring your attention to a great article I just read online.

Real Simple Magazine is one of my favorite mags and their article "New Skin-Care Products with Natural Ingredients" focuses on products that use Pomegranate, Grapefruit, Mushroom, Pumkin and...Bamboo. Yes Bamboo. I was a little surprised, but maybe you are not. Did you know that finely milled bamboo powder is used as an exfoliant in cleansers and scrubs?

Victoria’s Secret Invites Miami to “Get Sexy!”

My husband LOVES Victoria’s Secret's Alessandra Ambrosio and I guess I can't blame him, she is stunning. Well, the Brazilian bombshell celebrated her birthday last week in Miami at the hot-spot Mokai and had a cake that looked exactly like a "Very Sexy Make-up" compact!

Earlier in the day Alessandra greeted fans and signed autographs at the Victoria’s Secret store on Lincoln Road to celegrate the Very Sexy Makeup, which launched in September.

Victoria’s Secret makeup artists were at the store event providing free makeovers, demonstrating the spring’s hottest, sexiest makeup trends and using the NEW Very Sexy Makeup Diamond Collection. The Diamond Collection is a limited-edition collection of lip glosses, eye shadows, and shimmer powders formulated with real crushed diamond dust. The sexy palette consists of sparkly peach and pinks for the lips, coupled with vibrant jewel tones for the eyes.
