Guest Blogger Guin from GirlPaint: Hair Removal with Johnny B

Although removing hair from your body (or your face, in the case of you guys...or girls who shave your faces. what? anyway.) is not a glamorous task--actually far from it. It's tedious, boring, mundane...but it must be done. Agreed?

Well, I'm happy to say that I recently found a fabulous shaving cream (well, not actually a shaving cream--read on) that makes this tedious task, well, kinda fun.

Johnny B. Shampoo Paste (did you say 'shampoo'? yes, yes I did.) Is it! This tub of cool, funky textured (I liken it digging into icy, fluffy, firm-ish cream) is heaven to shave with. And Johnny B. knows it. Heck, Johnny even claims its double-duty right there on the label.

The lather is not super-sudsy, but it conditioning properties and cooling sensation (thanks to a touch of menthol and cinnamon oils) make it the perfect shaving aid. I must say that Johnny B. Shampoo Paste takes shaving to the next level...leaving your skin smooth and silky with no knicks. And it smells great, too.

And because Johnny B. Shampoo Paste is, in fact, a shampoo (a conditioning shampoo!), it's not only great for saving space in your shower and great for traveling (it's not a liquid!), it's also great for the environment!

Guest Blogger TheMakeupGirl: Single Shadows...A Very Good Thing..

Hey lovelies! It's Lianne from TheMakeupGirl. I am here to help out Ellen while she moves..(good luck girl!!)

I love the idea of a single wash of color on eyelids. Especially with the warm weather coming up, the last thing you want is to look overly made up when the temperature soars!

Here are a few that I loove.

  • The Balm: Shady Lady Gorgeous shadows with finely milled pigments so the color lasts long. 11 look at me shades, my faves are Racy Kacy, Mischevious Marissa and Caught In The Act Courtney (love those names!)
  • NARS Cream Shadow If you are looking for something with a little more staying power. Go with a cream shadow. This one from NARS is a favorite of mine for that very reason. No creasing, and long lasting pure color. Comes in a mind boggling 22 different shades, my faves here are Grenada, Corfu and Nomad. But all of the shades are fun because there is a good balance between ones you can wear during the day vs. night.
  • Becca Jewel Dust For gorgeous all over shimmer, this shadow is the ticket. The best thing about this is that you can wear it alone, or layer it over another shadow for a little dimension. Grab Nissa, or Nyx...both are great for that very purpose.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Lalicious Baby

Hola. It's Christina from Bon Bons in the Bath filling in for the lovely Ellen. Seeing as I'm the bath queen, I had to tell you all about a little gem that I've been using lately: the Moisturizing Body Scrub by Lalicious.

Talk about a fantastic product. Not only does this stuff moisturize without residue or greasiness, it exfoliates my skin to smooth perfection. Along with pure cane sugar, it contains coconut oil, sweet almond oil and Vitamin E to nourish and condition.

And the texture is out-of-this-world. The scrub is whipped for a light, fluffy texture that's easy to apply. No separation between oils and sugar, just one uniform product. Gotta love it.

A 16oz jar retails for $32. Lalicious also offers Body Oils, Body Butter and Body Washes for supreme showering fun.

Ombre D'eau by Chanel

Hi! I am Christina from eBeautyDaily, and like Elke and Carla, am popping in to help Ellen out while she is moving. Hope you're having *lots* of fun Ellen (I hate moving with a grandiose passion...lol)!

I wanted to tell you about Ombre D'eau eyeshadows from Chanel today - this is my summer eyeshadow. I absolutely adore this shadow. It''s a relatively thin liquid that comes in a precious bottle with little shaker balls in it, as the pigment settles right down to the bottom when left sitting. But when you shake it up, it is downright gorgeous. It applies with a sponge wand and can be blended down with your finger if you want the color a little more subtle. I believe the colors are all metallic, I know the ones I am using are. This is the perfect quick on eye for summer. Lots of glamour, just a little effort. ;) The small bottle is great for keeping in your makeup bag for on the go touch ups, but honestly you probably won't need it - these shadows really hold up throughout the day.

Head on over to your local Chanel counter, or Chanel.com (watch the video while you are there) and give the Ombre D'eau shadows a try, I really think you will love them just as much as I do!

I can't help but think of Friends as I am writing this, and the episode where Joey was selling "Ombre" men's fragrance...have you seen that? Too funny... Have a great spring, and don't forget to wear your sunscreen!

Glam Eyes with Lorac's Glam Rocks

Hi there, this is Carla from Product Girl. I'm helping fill in while Ellen is away as well. :)

Being a girl with a love for eyeshadow, playing with Lorac's new Glam Rocks has been a lot of fun. This product is loose eyeshadow with a very metalic finish. This shadow is ultra pigmented as well so this makes for a very powerful punch of color on the eyes in your choice of three shades; Metallic Pearl, Metallic Copper and Metallic Gold. I was really impressed with the color payoff with this product and my favorite of the bunch, Metallic Gold, is the most amazing yellow gold hued eyeshadow I have ever seen. The shape of the packaging is a little odd in my opinion but I would love to see Lorac put out more shades with this product, these precious metals are not enough.

You can find this at Sephora for $16.

Guest Blogger Elke from The Beauty Newsletter

Hi, Elke here from The Beauty Newsletter, coming to you from New York. When Ellen asked that I help fill in for her while she’s off hopefully relaxing, I was honored! And since my world is all about makeup, well, I just had to let you know about a new lip gloss that I had the chance to play with. And let me just say, it’s intense!

Wow, Flirt cosmetics sure knows how to pack the color on. Found at the Kohl stores, I've been a fan of Flirt in the past. And this lip gloss is converting me again.

I used this on a photo shoot, and yes, I used the super bright shocking fuchsia color.
The color name? Mighty Aphrodite. And it packs a punch. (color shown below is different.)

I used this in my photo shoot to create an extreme lip color. And it applied great, shiny, but the pigment is intense!! If felt almost like a super strong lipstick going on, but no, this is a lip gloss. It stayed on great, and the funniest part.. a few hours later, the shine was gone, but the pigment was still there, super strong and looked like a matte lipstick on. It didn't bleed or fade, or crack. It almost became another product. I've never seen that happen before.... ever. But note, that for their lighter colors, I didn't notice any of this.. it just faded in both shine and color. (I tried out the shiny light gold gloss on me and I had to keep reapplying constantly..)

But if you're looking for a super intense color packed lip gloss?
