Who Stole the Covet Bottle?

I have seen and hosted many contests, but this one is so elaborate that I am in absolute awe and had to share it with all of you.

Sarah Jessica Parker's new fragrance, Covet, recently launched and to promote this feminine scent, a contest to win up to $10,000 in cash and prizes is being hosted.

We are asked to join The Case of the Coveted Bottle. Sarah Jessica Parker is accused of stealing the bottle of Covet and it is our job to search for that missing bottle and free her from prison.

What? I hear you say. I know that it sounds a little bizarre but this contest is quite extraordinary.

Have I peaked your interest? Well if I have go to Case of the Coveted Bottle and take a peep at the contest. It began on the 8th and runs until October 15th.

I was never really very good a Cluedo but I am going to try and play this! Good luck and if you feel like helping me, please do!

Ding, Dong...Christian Lacroix Calling

Avon is bringing haute couture to your door this October with the luxurious new fragrance Rouge.
Rouge is the world renowned designer, Christian Lacroix's first fragrance and has been created exclusively for Avon. Lacroix states "I consider every woman to be a red carpet star; nothing gives me greater pleasure than celebrating their individuality, inner spirit, seductiveness and loves."

This bold floral scent contains:
Top notes of Red Wild Peony, effervescence of orange peel and White Pepper.
Middle notes of Osmanthus Flower, Japanese Plum Blossom and Spanish Carnation.Base notes of Patchouli Heart, Cashmere Woods and Skin Musks.

I was not sure quite what to expect but I found Rouge to be warm and lovely. I absolutely adore the bottle and how the sunlight highlights the beautiful pattern. The pattern on the bottle was inspired by an ornate bull fighting cape Christian Lacroix received as a gift and subsequently incorporated into a haute couture dress. He was so moved by the pattern on the cape that he incorporated a similar design on the bottle of Rouge.

Rouge will be available in October.

Scrub, Scrub, Scrub

When it comes to our faces, we should never scrub, scrub, scrub - but gently exfoliate. Exfoliation keeps your skin looking clean, healthy, more uniform in tone and less likely to break out. It addresses dullness and lining by attacking the appearance of past sun damage and allows for more effective moisturisation, so skin looks and feels comfortable.

There are multiple exfoliants on the market. I took five that are available and tested them on my sensitive skin. Here is what I thought of each of them:

Brand: Clarins
Product: Gentle Exfoliating Refiner
Description: Rich textured cream with ultra- gentle, refining and exfoliating spherical polishing grains. Ideal to promote instant skin-refining results.
Price: $27.50 USD/$34.00 CAD
Where to buy: Sephora, The Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart, major department stores
Overall: Just a little amount of the cream will do your entire face - so the tube will last for quite a while. It definitely left my skin smoother, and more glowing.
Would I buy? Yes

Brand: Dermalogica
Product: Gentle Cream Exfoliant
Description: A gentle, non-abrasive exfoliation treatment to thoroughly remove dulling surface debris, dramatically improving skin texture. Alpha hydroxy Lactic Acid, beta hydroxy Salicylic Acid and natural fruit enzymes detach dead skin cells, helping to stimulate skin renewal. Conditioning botanical extracts and humectants soothe the skin and combat dryness. Fragrance free.
$33.50 USD/ $49.40 CAD
Where to buy:,, local spas
Overall: This is a very gentle exfoliant mask that really works wonders on my skin. I wash my face and smooth a good layer on and ten minutes later my skin is glowing, smooth and clogged pore free. I use this once a week. Downfall is that it is very pricey.
Would I buy?: Definitely. This is my favourite exfoliant.

Brand: Ice Elements
Product: 2 Minute Miracle Exfoliating Gel
Description: A non-granular exfoliating gel with soothing Aloe Vera, natural botanical extracts and Hyaluronic acid (humectant). Gently exfoliates dead skin cells, removing dulling debris and excess oils. Rich in natural moisture to nourish new skin leaving it refreshed and vibrant. Great for dry skin and enlarged pores.
Price: $24.95 USD
Where to buy: online at
Overall: The gel was very pink and looked different from any other exfoliant I have ever tried. It felt lovely on the skin and was very cooling. I found that it really did exfoliate very well but when the gel begins to dry and you gently rub to remove, the cast offs were very messy in my sink.
Would I buy? Maybe.

Brand: Juice Beauty
Product: Green Apple Peel - Full Strength
Description: A high-mineral, gentle AHA enzyme peel that delivers a spa quality treatment at home, thanks to the infusion of certified organic fruit juices and raw cane sugar. Blended with 12 percent "real fruit" alpha hydroxy acids and enriched with the antioxidant benefits of vitamins A, C, and E, this gentle treatment dramatically improves skin tone, texture, and color, as it smoothes fine lines and boosts healthy cell turnover.
Price: $39.00 USD/$44.00 CAD
Where to buy: Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs,
Overall: This product works really well and eats all the dead skin cells from your face. I like that it is organic and natural. It is very expensive which is the downside.
Would I buy? I would definitely buy this as part of the Juice Beauty skincare line.

Brand: Yonka
Product: Gommage 305
Description: This 4 in 1 product exfoliates, hydrates, tones and brightens, and works to eliminate flaws and dull, lifeless cells.
Where to buy:, Essential Day Spa, local spas
Price: $33.00 USD/ $45.50 CAD
Overall: It smooths onto the skin nicely and you just wait for a bit until it starts to slightly dry and then you gentle run it off. Once again I am not a fan of the peeling/rubbing scrub. I do not like the crumbs that fall into the sink and I am nervous of dragging my skin and potentially hurting delicate skin. My skin did however have a lovely glow and felt very smooth afterwards. Too perfumed for me personally.
Would I buy? Probably not

So do you agree or disagree with my findings? What is your favourite exfoliant - I'd love to hear about it.
