Primetime Emmy Awards

This Sunday sees the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards. The Emmys are taking on a whole new look this year. Ryan Seacrest will be hosting and the the show will have a reality show element - can't wait to see!

Bruce Grayson is the Makeup Department Head for the 2007 Primetime Emmys and offers a sneak-peak behind this year’s Red Carpet. "This year I predict that the emphasis will be on the lips, rather than the eyes. Lipstick is back in a big way and I think we’ll be seeing lots of moisture matte formulas and glossy formulas. Lip stains blotted down in shades of plum or red will be the “it” colors. But don’t discount the eyes; they’ll be soft and beautiful, simply framed with false lashes instead of heavy liner. " Bruce Says.

How does Grayson prepare for such an important event? "I prepare by making sure that the makeup crew has the tools and makeup supplies they need to get the job done. I’m in close contact with stylists and publicists so that I know what colors the stars will be wearing. It’s essential that we’re prepared to touch them up and keep their look consistent. "

When asked about what are the must have products for that stunning film star look "Thin translucent foundations and powders that allow natural even skin tone to be seen are key. Blotting papers to take down shine are a great alternative to power build-up, and Kleenex on-hand for the occasional teary eye are a must. I always keep cream blush nearby because it blends right into the skin and looks natural, along with false lashes to frame the eyes without using liner." Great tips!

I will definitely be watching the Emmys on Sunday. Will you?

Nicole Richie: Get The Look

Patrick Melville
, celebrity hairstylist and owner of the Patrick Melville Salon at The Sports Club/LA at Rockefeller Center, was the man behind the gorgeous locks of Nicole Richie at New York Fashion Week.

This look is easy to achieve and is fabulous for day or evening. Melville added a lot more texture using a one-and-a-half pipe curling iron, created a high ponytail and pinned it up at the crown to give it height, teased the back to make it look irregular and finish the look with L’Oreal Elnett. To create the texture, he used Kiehl’s Silk Groom and a Mason Pearson brush.

The focus was the eyes; non-retro, black and elongated. Eyes were lined in M∙A∙C Kohl Eye Pencil in Smolder. Film Fest Mania: The Tastemakers Lounge

The Toronto International Film Festival is in full swing, with movie fans lined up at theatres all over Toronto's downtown and 'Stars' meeting with reporters and preparing for their 'Red Carpet' events.

This year sees the return of the Tastemakers Celebrity Gift Lounge, (now dubbed the eTalk Tastemakers Green Room), held at the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville. With the current eco-movement, President Debra Goldblatt felt it was important that the lounge follow suit. “There has never been a better trend than everybody attempting to go GREEN. We not only wanted to continue providing visiting talent a great Canadian lounge to visit, but during a week of frivolity and fun, use this opportunity to support a charity and continue educating others!”

The World Wildlife Fund-Canada is the official charitable partner and through sponsors’ participation Tastemakers will help WWF-Canada raise funds and awareness for their Save Our Climate campaign. The lounge has been designed by HGTV's Designer Guys using environmentally friendly furniture and materials and prominently features Canadian companies and brands with a conscience.

Some of the brands that Brad and Angelina can expect to find are: Stylish reusable shopping by Vancouver-based Bring Your Own Bag, Toronto-based DaLish Cosmetics, Dermaglow, YSL's newest fragrance Elle (launching in October), Linden's range of body care products with unisex fruit and plant-derived fragrances, Mavi Jeans, high-end costume jewellery by Otazu Jewellery, Smashbox Cosmetics, innovative men’s fashion by Strellson, Timex, and glamorous beachwear by V Del Sol.

Celebrities have been seen entering Tastemakers and I have been informed that Rachel Leigh Cook (All Hat) took home a stunning V Del Sol bikini and ladies Timex watch. She loved her gorgeous Otazu bracelet so much, that she also wore it home! Stephen Dorff (The Passage) cleaned up at Strellson with two coats, a hat, a scarf, and a variety of ties. He also loved his new Greg May hair product and Mavi Denim. Rashida Jones (The Office) loved DaLish cosmetics, an amazing Joe Fresh jacket and a hot white V Del Sol bikini. And Joey Slotnik (Nip/Tuck, Single Guy) chose Joe Fresh Menswear and President's Choice organic coffee.

The eTalk Tastemakers Green Room will run September 7th – 13th.
