Everything Glows For The Holidays

During the Holiday Season I love to add a little shimmer to my evening look - just to give me a little je ne sais quoi. Now when I say shimmer I mean a gentle, subtle glow and not full on glitter.

Elizabeth Arden is definitely my new best friend because they are the creators of the Everything Glows Collection. Now I can brighten up my eyes, cheeks and lips with shades that glimmer and shimmer with elegance.

This wonderful collection includes:

Everything Glows Compact for Eyes
A gleaming silver case filled with five shimmery shades that create a palette of holiday elegance for day and night. Vitamin-enriched, crease-resistant and silky smooth, each eyeshadow provides rich, true color that lasts all day.

Everything Glows Lip Gloss Duo
Inside the dual-sided compact, two coordinating lip glosses double the dazzle in sheer sparkling Shimmer and glistening rosy Shine.

Shimmer Powder
A dusting of sheer, shimmering powder to give skin a luminous glow. Its soft, Kabuki-style brush highlights cheekbones, decolletage and shoulders for a rich, radiant appearance.

This is truly my favourite item in the collection. It is easy to apply and makes me look radiant.

The look isn't complete until you smell divine too:

Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean
Sensual florals combine with creamy woods to reflect the whispering waters and rich textures of the Mediterranean.

Now that you have the products, here is how you can achieve that Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Everything Glows look:

Step 1:
Start with a clean moisturized face and apply Ceramide Plump Perfect Makeup SPF 15 in recommended shade.

Step 2:
- Sweep Color Intrigue Eyeshadow in Shade #2 across brow bone
- Apply Color Intrigue Eyeshadow in Shade #1 to entire lid, and contour crease with Shade #5, sweeping slightly outward and upward. Blend well.
- Smudge Color Intrigue Eyeshadow in Shade #4 close to top and bottom lash lines
- Line close to bottom lashes with Shade #2.
- Apply two coats of Ceramide Lash Extending Treatment Mascara in Black.

Step 3:
- Sweep Color Intrigue Cheekcolor in Sunblush onto the apples of cheeks and upward towards hairline.

Step 4:
- Line lips with Smooth Line Lip Pencil in Plumrose.
- Apply Ceramide Plump Perfect Lipstick in Perfect Cassis.
- Top with lip gloss in Shimmer for added sparkle.

Changes at Lancôme

I am afraid I have some sad news...

Gucci Westman’s association with Lancôme has come to an end and she will conclude her role as International Artistic Director of Lancôme. Her contributions to the brand have been vast, from her imaginative and creative colour collections to the New York Fashion Week program with emerging designers, as well as the bridge she built with the world of Hollywood.

"Gucci's eye for beauty has helped guide Lancôme to the next level in the worlds of fashion and celebrity," states Lancôme USA President Eric Lauzat. "We are grateful for all she's done to elevate our brand with her ability, instinct and grace."

Says Westman, "My time with Lancôme has been wonderful. It was an incredible learning experience being with a brand of this caliber, and I'd like to thank the Lancôme team for the opportunities and friendship they extended to me."

Westman joined the brand in 2003 and her first colour collection, French Riviera, debuted in Spring 2005. During her time with Lancôme, she created eight colour collections. Her final two collaborations are the Spring 2008 L.U.C.I. Color Collection and the Thakoon Pout-á-Porter lipstick.

Good luck Gucci with your new endeavours!

Bourjois Gift Sets From Santa

I love all things French, don't you? Here are three Bourjois gift sets that you should think about adding to that gift list. If it was me, I would be the happiest little lady to receive anyone of these, and my hubbie would score bonus 'good-boy' points!

French Art of Flirting ($30)
This cute little book-like box opens up to reveal 3 metallic eyeliners in radiant copper, vibrant green, luminous coal, and an Ultra Black Mascara in blackest black. On the inner lid, Bourjois provide two sassy looks for the eyes, Daytime Flirt and Party Time Flirt, using these products. Very clever.

Pretty In Paris ($38)
Create that perfect sexy Holiday look with this 6 piece kit. What do you get? Ombre à paupières shadow in noir precieux 04 (dark purple shimmer), Survoltée ombre à paupières waterproof shadow in parme électro 04 (light purple cream shimmer), Liner Pineau in Prune Styliste 24 (dark rich purple), Volume Glamour Ultra Black Mascara, an eyeliner brush and a smudge brush.

As with the French Art of Flirting kit, Pretty in Paris provides instructions for two looks - Parisian Pretty and Belle of The Ball. I would say both looks would be knockout for a New Year's Eve party.

Kisses From Paris ($18)
Take 4 Bourjois' award winning lip glosses, make them into miniature and the perfect purse-size, add a sweet key ring and you have Kisses From Paris. These high shine, non-sticky Effet 3D glosses are all you need to keep your kisser pouty.

The 4 shades included are: beige elastic 1 (nude beige), brun galactic 2 (beige shimmer), rose idyllic 3 (frosty pink), and rose symphonic 20 (pink pearl with glitter).

The lovely people at recently asked if I would be 'Guest Guru' and provide some gift ideas for their readers. I of course said Yes, as I am always happy to talk about beauty products. doesn't sell products directly, their editors find and review the Web's best online stores to hand-select gifts for your recipient or occasion. I have to say that is a fantastic site to browse and shop for your Holiday gifts. I have spent lots of time going from category to category picking out items for giving and...hopefully receiving. Searching is really easy - you can search for items by recipient type, by sex, occasion or even price.

Click here to see my suggestions for sure-to-please gifts. Also, make sure you check out Laura Kenney's Sephora’s Secret Santa Beauty Gift Ideas too.

Ok, I know that dog outfits have nothing to do with beauty but I was looking through their pet gifts and saw this pug - aw so cute. I adore pugs and have 2...for those who don't know that. blog - Gift Rap

NARS Siren Song

The NARS Holiday Collection is truly stunning with rich shades of violet, plum, and gold for eyes, golden apricot for cheeks, and gleaming crimson tones for lips. Shimmering, ruby nails complete this collection - there really is a little something for everyone.

Violetta Duo Eyeshadow (smoky lavender/soft metallic violet)
Balthazar Duo Eyeshadow (maize/saffron)
Cheyenne Duo Eyeshadow (metallic sienna/gothic plum)
Night Rider Single Eyeshadow (soft plum with silver glitter)
Night Snow Single Eyeshadow (sheer white with silver glitter)

I think the Violetta Duo can carry me through into Spring quite nicely.

Luster Blush (sheer golden apricot)

Orgasm will always been my No. 1 favourite blush colour, but this could definitely be my second.

Viridiana Lipstick (rich burgundy)
Rose Gitane Lip Gloss (sheer sangria)
Bad Education Lip Gloss (sheer crimson red)

I am not good with a solid, deep colour so these sheer glosses are absolutely perfect!

Saratoga Nail Polish (ruby red with shimmer)

I think I am going to have to grab a bottle of this and paint my toes for my Florida vacation.
